Brindavan Gardens, located in the royal city of Mysore in Karnataka state, is one of the most famous gardens in India visited by over two million tourists every year. Built in the year 1932, it is spread over an area of 60 acres adjacent to the Krishnarajasagara dam site. The garden is laid out in three terraces enriched with varieties of water fountains, water channels, lush green lawns, flower beds, shrubs, colorful bougainvillea and ornamental plants. It is a mesmerizing sight to watch when the whole garden is illuminated. The main attraction of the garden is the musical dancing fountain in which music, light, and water are synchronized to create an enchanting water ballet. You can also enjoy a boat ride in the boating pond in the midst of the garden.
Brindavan Gardens is just 18 km from Mysore city and is easily accessible. The garden is open to the public from 6.30 am to 9 pm and is illuminated every evening. The best time to visit is from September to February.
