We completed two additional masonry repairs this week, each presenting distinct challenges. The front porch's top row featured 4-inch blocks, which, if removed, would leave replacement blocks without a bonding mechanism to the concrete cap. Conversely, the back porch lacked a 4-inch block, and voids in the 8-inch blocks were not filled during construction, allowing concrete from the cap to flow in and obstruct complete removal. Despite these challenges, we successfully overcame them, and the porches are now ready for a fresh coat of masonry paint.
