Surprisingly enough my favorite part of these plants and any other plant I’ve grown, are the roots. The roots reaching and gaining strength and growing stronger to support the life above the soil. 🌱

I’m going to miss this tub of lard. Rosa was my first official milk cow. She helped start up my business and baptized me in fire to learn the ropes of being a milk maid.

The first day bringing her home she was a week into her 4th lactation, still full of edema and sore and nervous to be in a new place. I didn’t have a milk barn yet or a machine so I had to tie her to the post under the barn and hand milk her. My hands had never been so sore in my life. I felt like it took a million years to milk her out fully by hand.

I milked by hand for the first 3 months of her lactation morning and night. The strength in my hands and forearms grew and eventually so did carpal tunnel 😂 I was so grateful when I finally got a milk machine and Kyle graciously gave up his shop so I could take it over and use it as a milk barn 😜

Even though Rosa has kicked me in the head (luckily mostly a graze) almost broke my finger by kicking and smashing it against my milk bucket and being a complete a$$hole at times, she taught me A LOT!!

Rosa is moving on to new pastures in Wyoming. I don’t need two milk cows anymore, but I’m sure going to miss her. This last week she was a total bu****le, but the last three days she’s been a complete angel and it makes it hard to say goodbye.

Thank you Rosa for nourishing my family and so many other families with your delicious milk. She was the queen of the homestead.

So long my friend.

Dear Customers,

As the new year has arrived I am finding my priorities and goals changing. I had just filled up every spot available for milk orders and felt a pull into a new direction.

My instincts are telling me to focus more on my children and my husband and to pause the selling of raw milk. Eventually I would like to grow my family in due time.

This has been a difficult decision because I know how the milk has benefitted each one of you. It breaks my heart to discontinue providing this.

I do not know when I will begin selling again. If/ when I do I will be sure to reach out to each of you.

If you need help locating other raw milk sources I will be happy to help.

Thank you and I love you all. This has been a labor of love and I will surely miss it.

So this last week my focus has been so out in left field. I advertised my milk and also commented on another post with someone trying to locate some raw milk. Long story short, the hate on raw milk is insane. Trying to defend raw milk just ended with frustration and a lack of focus on what my tasks were for the week.

I just had a brand new customer come get milk from me for the first time today and her comment on the milk just melted all the frustration away from during the week. 🥹 thank you Kayla!! You made my day.

I’m really blessed with amazing customers, especially my dedicated customers. One of my dedicated peeps came in this morning to get his order and he chatted with me for a while. It helped me to realize my work in providing raw milk is important and that I’m doing the right thing regardless of what the nay sayers are saying.
