If you have these washable K&N “lifetime” filters for your HVAC system at home I would just throw them away now and get a regular disposable filter. These types of filters are way too restrictive in most cases and can cause your evaporator to freeze up or cause damage to your compressor and your fan motor.

I hope everyone’s AC is keeping them cool in this heat! If it isn’t working, and your filters or coils look like this, it may be the reason why. Your equipment needs routine maintenance at least every 6 months in order to run properly.
