Hang up that pruning equipment to help protect your oak trees from the oak wilt fungus. Now through July 15, beetles can carry oak wilt spores from tree to tree. Spores enter trees through wounds in the bark an infected tree can die within four to six weeks. Once an infection gets started, oak wilt will continue to spread in the area.
