Most homeowners don't think about their roof....until there's a leak...
As we move out of winter and into spring, it'd a good time to give your roof a quick check. The colder months can be tough on roofing materials, and small issues often go unnoticed until they turn into bigger problems.

Wind, rain, and debris can loosen shingles, shift flashing, or allow leaves and dirt to collect in roof valleys. Over time, that buildup can trap moisture and slowly wear down the areas that protect your home the most.
From the ground, take a minute to look for things like:
-Missing, curling or lifted shingles
-Debris or buildup in roof valleys
-Loose flashing around vents or chimneys
-Dark streaks or spots that could indicate moisture or algae growth

Most homeowners don't think about their roof until there's a leak, but a quick seasonal check can help catch small issues before they become costly repairs.

A little attention now can go a long way in protecting your home as spring storms start rolling in.

If you're not comfortable getting a closer look yourself, Power & Panel Home Solutions is always happy to help with safe inspections and general home maintenance.

Air escapes from recessed cans through gaps between the metal housing and the drywall, unsealed, joints, and wire penetrations, acting as a chimney for warm air to rise into the attic. Non-ICAT (Insulation Contact Airtight) rated fixtures are particularly prone to this

How to Seal and Insulate Can Lights

YouTube • Dr. Energy Saver
Key Areas of Air Leakage:
Trim Gaps: Spaces between the ceiling trim ring and the drywall.
Fixture Housing: Gaps in the metal seams of the can itself.
Wire/Socket Penetrations: Unsealed holes where wires enter the fixture.
Electrical Box: The junction box attached to the top of the can.

Contributing Factors:
Stack Effect: Warm air in the house rises, drawing conditioned air up into the attic.
Heat Generation: Incandescent or halogen bulbs heat the fixture, accelerating the airflow.
Lack of Insulation: Non-IC rated fixtures require insulation to be kept 3 inches away, leaving a hole in the thermal barrier.

Solutions:
Caulking: Apply caulk around the trim ring-to-drywall gap.
Air-Sealing Kits: Use specialized covers or boxes in the attic to cover the fixture.
Metal Tape/Sealant: Seal seams and wire holes inside the housing

End of Winter. Time for a Reset.

Winter leaves its mark.
Dust buildup. Rain spots. Wind and grime layered onto your glass day after day.
It happens slowly… so most homeowners don’t even realize how dull things have gotten.

But once they’re clean?

It’s a difference you can feel.

More natural light pouring in.
Clearer views in the morning.
A brighter, fresher look from the curb.

There’s something about heading into spring with a clean slate.
Clean glass. Clear views. A home that feels taken care of.

It’s not flashy — it’s just pride in your home.
No streaks. No shortcuts. No rushed jobs.
Just old-school attention to detail and doing it right the first time.

Work you can trust. Results you can see.
If your windows are due for a reset, let’s get you ready for spring.

⚡ When’s the Last Time Your Electrical Panel Was Serviced? ⚡
Most homeowners never think about their main service panel or subpanels… until something trips, flickers, or worse.
Over time, breakers wear out, lugs loosen, and wiring can get cluttered or overheated. That’s where panel conditioning comes in.
Here’s what I typically do during a main service or subpanel conditioning:
✔️ Replace worn or aging breakers
✔️ Tighten all lugs and terminal connections
✔️ Clean up and organize wiring
✔️ Inspect for overheating or corrosion
✔️ Ensure everything is operating safely and efficiently
Loose connections and aging breakers are one of the most common causes of nuisance tripping — and even electrical fires.
If you’re here in thevTucson area and your home is 10+ years old, it may be time to have your panel looked at.
A clean, tight, properly functioning panel isn’t just about performance — it’s about protecting your home and family.
If you’d like your system checked out, send me a message. I’m happy to take a look and give you honest feedback.

💡 Still Using Old Bulbs? It Might Be Costing You More Than You Think.
If your home is still running on incandescent or older CFL bulbs, upgrading to LED lighting is one of the easiest and most cost-effective improvements you can make.
Here’s why:
✔️ Lower Energy Bills – LED bulbs use up to 75% less energy than traditional incandescent bulbs. That means real savings every single month.
✔️ Longer Lifespan – LEDs can last 15–25 times longer. Fewer ladder trips. Fewer replacements. Less hassle.
✔️ Less Heat – Traditional bulbs waste energy by producing heat. LEDs stay cooler, which is safer and more efficient.
✔️ Brighter, Cleaner Light – Better visibility in kitchens, garages, workshops, and outdoor spaces.
Small upgrade. Big impact.
If you’ve been thinking about switching your home or upgrading fixtures, I’d be happy to help you choose the right lighting for your space and handle the installation professionally.
Message me anytime — let’s brighten things up. 💡

🏠 Hey Tucson homeowners — quick tip for this week
With our sun, dust, and seasonal storms here in Tucson, these 3 things are worth a 5-minute check around your home:
⚡ Outlets & breakers – Heat and power use here can loosen connections faster than people realize.
🪟 Windows – Dust buildup happens fast around here and blocks more natural light than you’d think.
☀️ Solar panels – Local dust and pollen can reduce output even when panels look clean.
Catching small issues early can save you money — especially before the next hot stretch rolls in.

I’m local, I’m hands-on, and I’m always happy to help my neighbors keep their homes in great shape.
📩 Message the page if you want help or just have a question.

Have a great week!
