Prep work can save you from a complete do-over. Here's what we see trip people up most:

✅ Do: Sand glossy surfaces before painting for proper adhesion and a smooth finish that lasts.
❌ Don't: Paint over glossy trim or cabinets without roughing them up first. Your new paint will peel or bubble, and you'll be redoing the whole job.

✅ Do: Use a quality primer on bare wood, drywall, or patched areas.
❌ Don't: Skip primer and go straight to color. You'll burn through extra coats and still see uneven coverage.

✅ Do: Let each coat dry completely before adding the next.
❌ Don't: Rush it with a second coat while the first is still tacky. You'll end up with streaks, drips, and a finish that never fully hardens.
