Ms. Penny reached out to see if we could repair a hole in her ceiling that was discovered after replacing her kitchen light fixture. She was looking for a quick, cheap, and stylish fix, so I fashioned a panel out of MDF and primed it at home. This way, I was able to minimize my interruption and mess on site.

She was pleased with our work on the kitchen ceiling, so she asked me to take a look at her crawl space access door. The old door was in much need of replacement, and had no frame. Again, she wanted the easiest fix, but this time, future maintenance was the concern. I removed the old and constructed a frame from pressure treated lumber, and fastened to the masonry structure. To minimize/ eliminate all future maintenance, all hardware is weather resistant stainless steel with galvanized hinges (supply issue, not a choice). The door and casing are constructed of cellular PVC and secured to the new frame.

Just in time for Halloween

The customer needed new shutters installed ASAP! They received several quotes to get the work done, but the prices were outrageous. We were able to provide an acceptable price as well as get the work done in just a few hours, which was important because of upcoming Halloween festivities.

thanks for the opportunity Sandy Jaranyi!

Lighting Update for a DIY Finished Basement

This is a basement rehab project being done mostly by the client. the client framed an otherwise open & unfinished basement to create a theater room, a common area, and a play area for their 2 young children. Our involvement was to assist in updating the lighting layout and advise on other related electrical work. On our first site visit, the client walked us through their new floor plan and detailed their vision. Budget was a concern, so they wanted to purchase all materials themselves. We provided a detailed materials list and when all materials were on site, we returned a 2nd time to complete the work. We replaced the outdated florescent tube light fixtures with wafer style LED lights, and also wired a new 3-way switch in the stair well, and new dimmer switch for the theater room. During this 2nd visit, the client expressed that they wanted to dedicate a new circuit from the panel that would serve the outlets in the theater room. We were already there and the walls were still open, but we didnt have enough wire to travel the distance from the panel to the first theater room outlet. After consulting with the client, we decided to install a short run from the panel and terminate at a new junction box for the client to finish at a later date when they had the needed materials.

A waterfront client had a newly installed propane tank that needed to be strapped down immediately due to incoming tropical storm and the potential storm surge that comes with it. We had the necessary supplies on-hand and had the tank strapped down within an hour of receiving the call!
