Oh my goodness, these fish peppers have my whole heart this year! By far the coolest looking pepper plants I've ever had the pleasure of growing. They may even surpass the Aurora pepper, my favorite for the last 5 years for their purple tinted leaves, purple flowers, and insanely colorful peppers. If you purchased one of these from me, your garden has automatically increased in cool factor 😎

I very much need to stop fawning over pepper plants and get to work for the day. This week I'm rushing to get botanicals harvested and dried so that next week I can start infusing oils for my products for our July vendor events! I also need to get all my products sorted and finished for our June vendor event, the Country Morning Market at Corabeth Acres on the 20th! So far it's looking like I'll have teas, infused fun shaped sugar cubes, tons of kitchen herb plants, a selection of gorgeous healthy houseplants, and probably some bundles of fresh herbs and maybe a couple fresh floral bundles, depending on what's blooming! Just got in a ton of colorful h**p cord! So excited for this because it means I can start crafting tons of colorful, floral-infused smudge sticks for the Bridger Spirit Fair! I love smudging and due to all the discourse surrounding the use of white sage by non-indigenous folks, I generally prefer to smudge with Montana prairie sage, lavender, or yarrow. On the rare occasion I do use white sage, it is from plants I grew myself from ethically harvested seed.

You can always rest assured that when you buy smudge sticks from me, they are made from ethically home-grown or sustainably wild harvested plants.

I know they just look like twigs for now, but for me these are a serious garden upgrade! Two new chokecherries thanks to our friends at Corabeth Acres LLC 💚 can't wait til these guys get big enough to produce fruit! I've been putting a big emphasis on perennials lately. Food stability feels a little iffy just producing stuff from seed every year. I'll always do my veggies and the annual flowers I love, but I really delight in the fact that every year more and more of my garden pretty much takes care of itself minus watering. More than ever I'm making sure that Love Grows Here 💚🌱

This is Nala. She has a catnip addiction that I could not afford to feed without growing a catnip patch in my yard! Other neighborhood cats even wander all the way to my yard for their fix 🤣 in that spirit, I've decided to sell catnip bundles at my market booths this year! I'll have both fresh and dried bundles. Make sure you give your cat some Nala's Nip, 100% cat approved for maximum zoomies followed by an excellent catnap 🐈‍⬛️

Spent this rainy early morning in the greenhouse potting up some house plants to add to the sale shelf! I'll be bringing these with me to the Country Morning Market at Corabeth Acres LLC on June 20th and to the Bridger Spirit Fair in July! If you see anything you'd like to claim before those events, I would be glad to sell them early! I have Monstera deliciosa, a Swiss cheese monstera, snake plants, elephant jade, begonia maculata, Chinese evergreen, a philodendron in a hanging pot, golden pothos, njoy pothos, spider plants, and more!

Sometimes, we garden with purpose. Others? We garden for joy! These little guys are a fun experiment for me this year. Many of you.may recognize the foliage as that of a potato. It is none other than the Clancy potato, a variety developed by Dutch plant breeder Peter Van Hest and introduced to the public in 2019. It has the distinction of being the only potato in the world grown from "true seed" rather than from tubers.

If you've ever grown potatoes, you know the process: buy disease free MT certified seed potatoes and either plant them whole or "chit" (cut apart and let scab over) them. Montana farmers are weary of disease in potatoes, so you will not be able to order for shipping or purchase in this state any seed potato stock other than MT certified disease-free.

The Clancy potato is known for disease resistance, an advantage that being grown from true seed gives this hybrid. If you'd like to purchase seeds and try growing your own, I ordered mine from Botanical Interests Seed Company. I'm super interested in the yield of this variety as compared to the typical varieties I planted out in my garden, and also the flavor! Follow along all summer as I grow these ones in a pot and a couple other seedlings in the graden to see how they do!
