Started the week with this 100 year old set of stairs. After a rough start we got it retreaded, landing replanked, and the skirt reattached. Still have a ton of sanding, skirt cap to firewall, handrails, and stained. Plan to have this wrapped up by the weekend to start a cabinet job.

Received five transoms to refurbish and afterwards restore the staircase. Good week for shop days.

Today 95% of all homes have hollow core doors of different designs. These doors since introduced as a cost saving replacement to solid core doors have a short life expectancy of around 10 years. Most home owners spend a small fortune replacing these doors, either by DYI or hiring a professional to replace. Current cost to replace just the slab door average around $300-$650 on hollow cores and $550-$2600 on solid core. After a short vacation we hit the ground running on this pergola roof project. This 22year old had a plastic roof sheeting installed a few years back and due to no pitch it just held water. So we gave it a pitch and installed all new upper level for this great customer. Stay tuned as many more projects to come.

Little change order to help with the approved drainage plan, but this deck is wrapped up. Now we are starting two new projects on this same property, a replacement retention wall, and restoring the roof on the pergola.

Walk deck is finished. Have a slight drainage issue on the tie in to the pool deck, but will have a plan by tomorrow to get it wrapped up. Going to miss this project as it has been a fun math exercise 😂.

We got all the rot cleared out and the drainage pad is cleared. Got to hot to continue, but at least got the decking rolling on the walk deck portion. After this we have to tie into the pool slab and we will call this one done.

Phase one is complete, moving onto phase two and redoing the garden walk deck. The owners dog supervised the whole process and approved the new sitting area.

Phase one on the restoration of this deck. We were able to get all the old rot out of the main deck and replaced/properly space the joist. We were also able to remove the step down to make it flow with no trip hazards. Phase two will continue it on out the walkway to another small swing deck.
