Don't worry, we're not breaking up with the oyster. 🦪
We could never do that.
Oysters are part of our DNA here in Urbanna—always have been, always will be. But let’s be honest… we’re more than just one shellfish.
As we’ve grown, one of our biggest goals has been showing the world that Urbanna isn’t just the Oyster Festival (though we do love a good shuck).
We're a whole coastal community full of charm, history, and yes—other cool things too.
Like the scallop shell. Ever heard of Chesapecten middlesexensis?
It’s a fossil from the Miocene era (that’s 5–23 million years ago, give or take), and it was discovered right here on Urbanna Creek. We’re talking ancient, local, and totally worthy.
So no—we’re not replacing the oyster. We’re just giving it a little company in the spotlight.
