THANK YOU, to all the folks that came out, volunteered or got tix, and made it to this year's Vallejo Garden Tour! We truly appreciate your support! We are keeping the full color tour booklet up on our website (without the maps) to honor our gardeners and sponsors. We will also be adding more photos of the gardens (if you missed it).
Next year's tour will be on the Sunday after Mother's Day... May 16th, 2027! Hope to see you there!

"The first known female rose breeder in the United States was Caroline Herbemont of South Carolina. She bred at least three different roses in the 1830s. One of her roses was a parent to the still available lavender climbing rose ‘Queen of the Prairies’ from 1843."

"The first woman in California who bred roses (two of them) was Theodosia Shepherd. Mostly, however, she raised annuals, flowers whose seeds she sold from her thriving business in Ventura. She died in 1905."
