Time to check on my lime tree! 🍋‍🟩🌳 I cut into my very first lime to see if it was ready—and sure enough, it was perfect and EXTRA juicy! 😍 It’s officially time to harvest the rest of my limes and give this tree a complete makeover with a little trimming, fresh compost, and fertilizer. She worked hard, so now it’s time to return the love! 💚🌱

Funny story! 😂 One year, I was planting seeds for my fall garden, and somehow a lettuce seed must have fallen into the yard. As time went on, I noticed something growing that looked just like the lettuce I had planted. I decided to leave it alone and see what would happen—and sure enough, it grew into a beautiful head of lettuce! 🥬😍

Now I’m convinced that I need to try planting lettuce directly in the ground. I mean, just look at it—it grew better all by itself! 😂🌱

We finally cut into our homegrown Tigger melon! 🐯🍈 The inside was such a beautiful color, and it tasted sweet, juicy, and refreshing. It was definitely worth the wait! There’s just something extra special about growing something from seed and finally getting to enjoy it with your family. 🧡🌱

Fresh-picked Tigger melon straight from the garden! 🍈🐯 Just look at those beautiful orange colors and tiger-like stripes! I’ve been waiting patiently for this little beauty, and it was definitely worth the wait. Homegrown always tastes better! 🧡🌱

A couple of years ago, I grew my very first Tigger melon! 🍈🐯 It was definitely worth the wait. It had a mild, sweet flavor—almost like a mix between cantaloupe and honeydew—and smelled amazing! I also loved its beautiful orange color with stripes that looked just like Tigger’s! I can’t wait to get my hands on some Tigger melon seeds one day so I can grow them again. 🌱🧡

Growing my first mini sugar pumpkin, and I’m already running into an issue! 🎃 I noticed some damage near the base, so it was time to try to fix it. I carefully cut the damaged area open to check for a worm, but thankfully I didn’t find one. After cleaning it up, I gently closed it back together and covered the area with soil. Fingers crossed it isn’t too damaged and makes a full recovery! 🤞🌱

A little late-night harvest! 🌙🍅🥒 Our bunny wanted a late-night snack—and honestly, so did I! We picked a couple of cherry tomatoes, one whole tomato, and a fresh cucumber straight from the garden. Such a simple, refreshing, and delicious late-night snack! 🐰🌱

Go stand by your basil before the light is gone tonight. Look at the very top of the plant.

If you find a slim spike forming there, cone-shaped, paler than the leaves, your basil has decided summer is closing. Bolting is the plant's own calendar entry. Cooler nights and shortening days tell it to stop making leaves and start making seeds, and once it flowers, the leaves go sparse and bitter.

The rescue takes ten seconds. Pinch the spike off just above a pair of leaves and the plant goes back to leaf-making for weeks more. Do it every few evenings and you will still be cutting pesto basil in late September.

Tonight is just the check. Spike or no spike, your basil has already cast its vote on the season. Worth knowing which way it went. 🌿
