There was some severe rot damage caused by improper flashing where the garage eave met the gable, check your home and make sure there is sufficient water protection in these areas. Water will do severe damage. Several of The 2x6 and the header for the window were rotted down to nothing! The only thing holding this window in when we got there was the caulk.
