Begin Again

Can you feel the worries flowing through my veins?
As you hold me in your arms,
and the only thing we exchange is the breath you’ve yet to take away
Do you feel it crawling across your skin?
1000 little spiders telling me this is just another game of pretend,
That they’ll eventually scare you away, just give it time.
Does it crush your chest with the weight of 1000 farewells?
I don’t want you to be another box I eventually have to close for good,
But instead, my very own treasure chest I can open anytime.

Are you willing to stay?
Are you willing to try?
Are you willing to let me begin again, and not be another goodbye?
