Older print crumbling

About 6 years ago I printed and wired up a mk 1 arc reactor, today I noticed debris under it, and the tail end is crumbling under minimal force.

Print material was PLA.

Are all of my PLA prints going to do this?

Genuinely gutted this failed

I put weeks into designing my dream ukulele, creating a convincing wood grain through textures and slicing tricks, printing, staining, building, everything, only for it to basically crumble as soon I I put strings on. The neck began to pull away from the body, the bridge exploded off and had to be re-glued, the body began to delaminate, and nearly every joint began to break. I'm proud of how it looks, and I learned a lot, but I'm heartbroken. I guess wood-filled PLA is just not strong enough to be put under stress, even stress as light as ukulele strings

Lemons are now lemonade.

My son was bummed, the plastic was brittle and crumbled. Quick model and print... took longer to reassemble than to get the part. Playing with the idea of a new face too

What are these PVC pipes for?

These walls were just built, and the realtor told us the pvc is for irrigation for trees/plants. We live in Southern california- can anyone shed some light on if these are irrigation or what?

Retaining wall DIY - am I insane for thinking I can do this myself (with help)?

We’ve lived in the house since 2021 and the walls have shifted over time and it’s definitely time to address the issue. I want to completely redo both sections of walls with new stone, ideally keeping the same layout for the front wall (around the mulch bed/lights) but I do want to change the layout of the back portion where the stairs are. I’ll need to address the drain from the gutters as well as the power that runs to the lights for the steps/receptacles in the trash area as well as the lights for the front section in the mulch area (I bought a home wiring guide to help educate myself in this area). I want to rip out and redo the area for the trash bins as well. I took measurements of the current layout and I believe contracting this out would be an exorbitant sum (which I believe the last owners did and the wall is failing). I’ve done a good bit of research already on DIY retaining walls and want to do it right as we’re planning to sell next year. I do intend to 1) rent a dumpster to dispose of the existing wall blocks, 2) rent some sort of mini excavator to help with digging the dirt back and 3) rent a saw for all the stone cuts I’ll need to make. Any tips, advice, design ideas, and words of encouragement are welcomed and appreciated!

Am I crazy wanting to create a fortress by enclosing my front yard with hedges???

My trees do not provide the exact privacy I want. I've been having this fever dream that may or may not work. I want to continue along the the front planters with pivot hedges (those are the ones on the fence line) to create a perimeter that would essentially enclose my front yard. ( I don't know if/what to put at the top of the steps) Examples of what I want to achieve in last photos.

Reason being is that line of sight from the street can see into my windows when the front shutters are open. With tall dense hedges they would block that line of sight and allow me to open my shutters without being seen.

French drain Install: Pop up Emitter not working, what have I done wrong?

I'm tackling my own french drain to get water out of the garage. The pipe slopes downward all the way down the driveway, and I installed a pop up emitter to discharge water at the end of the run past my home's foundation. However, while testing with a garden hose, the system is just draining into the bottom of the trench rather than through the emitter.

It seems it's draining through the perforated pipe before pressure builds enough to push it through the emitter. This is a flex corrugated emitter - can anyone help me understand what's going wrong? Is the slope too steep to the emitter? The depth of the pipe is about 18 inches. Thank you so much, I wanted to fill in the drainage today but what a waste if it's just pulling near me home again (before it was pooling much further up the hill).

This alley between my house (right) and the neighbors has been a muddy section all summer long with very little rain, the hose isn’t leaking or on. Whose responsibility is this? Is our slab foundation in danger?
