We are excited to announce that we will be breeding Whiting True Blue chickens! As someone who loves diversity and being able to tell my chickens apart easily, it was a no brainer to go with this breed. While all of them lay beautiful blue eggs, each chick can grow up to look completely different!
This breed originated from Whiting Farm, developed by Dr. Tom Whiting, he crossed white leghorns with Ameraucanas to get the high productivity and egg size of the leghorn and the various colors and patterns and blue eggs of the Ameraucanas.
Raising this breed, we have noticed they are great foragers, friendly, hardy, and excellent egg layers. We couldn’t recommend this breed more to anyone looking to add some fun colors to their flock and beautiful blue eggs to the egg basket.
This spring we will be producing chicks weekly, so reach out if you are interested in getting some for yourself! We will only be doing local pickups for the time being.
Below are some of our hold backs from last year’s breedings and possibly what you can expect to get from us. We also sometimes produce white chickens with black spots! But I didn’t have any last year. They are showing up more so this year.
