When a house freezes bad things happen…. and good people know how to make it go away by doing bad things…. because the house was already dried out we couldn’t find leaks in the ceilings easily. We used a compressor outside to pump 175psi into domestic piping and tried to listen. We then used a decibel meter to narrow down the area, then the heartbreaking start of cutting open ceilings and run the compressor again. Find a split, repair a split, find a split, repair a split… it makes for a long, noisy, dirty, rewarding day… so when we have a cold week and we suggest running the thermostat a few degrees higher please listen…

Well we have broken a snow fall record here in little Rhody! So that means we are shut down again today Tuesday Feb 24th. We need time for our technicians to safely dig out of their driveways, dig out the trucks and try to safely get down the streets. Some have not even been plowed yet! That will take some time! Please be patient. We have to be able to travel safely around the state before we can get to your house! Are you shoveled out? Where can we park? Just a few things we have to take into consideration before we can get out to your plumbing or heating call. This snow will continue to wreck havoc on our scheduling so please be patient! It's going to be VERY cold over the weekend. Don't lower your heat, keep the heat up and stay inside.
You can either pay the Oil man the Gas company or the Insurance company. Please be smart these temperatures are not normal and water and heat lines freeze quickly. Be safe

Not every boiler is in a basement…sometimes they’re on a second floor hanging 10 feet in the air…..

Ok another week of severe cold is upon us…. keep the thermostats up, wood/pellet stoves down, cabinets open… don’t be surprised if your heat doesn’t reach the setting on your thermostat so if your set at 68* is may only reach 65*. Once we get into the balmy 30*s things will ease up.

Here we go again single digits…. please please please turn up your heat in your home a couple of degrees the next few days, open cabinet doors under your sinks, run the hot and cold water every couple of hours to prevent frozen pipes. Turn down your pellet/wood stove, build a smaller fire in the fireplace… frozen pipes aren’t fun for you or us and can cost thousands in damage and repairs… let this photo sink in as that’s me going up thru a frozen ceiling trying to save a house that froze because I couldn’t get into the eaves…

Horribly installed boiler… it was actually piped backwards so I had to reconfigure it to work 2 years ago but now they have a frozen zone of heat. We can’t thaw the zone because it’s piped with pex tubing. We have to run the other zones 5* warmer and hope for the best.🫣
