Thomas Landscapes is a full-service landscape design and maintenance firm with over twenty years of experience, specializing in professional and individually tailored work in the Washington, D.C. We offer a comprehensive design and implementation process, creating formal and informal landscapes and gardens in any a variety of environments: patios & roof gardens, townhomes a

nd single family homes. We transform landscapes into works of art. Founder and President Derek Thomas is a certified professional horticulturalist and Master Gardener, a member of the Maryland Nursery and Landscape Association, and a member in good standing of the Association of Professional Landscape Designers; he is licensed through the Maryland Department of Agriculture. He received his formal training in Landscape Design from the USDA Graduate School. Derek, a native of Trinidad, W.I., has been part of the Washington, D.C. There is a lot of competition out there, and knowing that your landscaping company is professional and competent is increasingly important. At Thomas Landscapes we strive to help you achieve the look and feel you want, and reach the goals and dreams you set for your landscapes and gardens. We look forward to helping you realize your landscaping dreams.

Late February through the end of March is a good time to overseed your lawn to make it thicker or to cover bare areas. The freezing and thawing of the soil this time of the year actually helps the seed to get good soil contact.
