✨I am extremely honored to return as a second-year juror for the International Design Excellence Awards (IDEA) organized by IDSA. ✨

I can’t wait to meet and join 42 exceptional creatives in person a few weeks from now to identify and celebrate the very best that design has to offer in 2026!

I echo Phnam Bagley, Jury Chair, in pointing out that this year is significant due to a deliberate shift in focus toward IMPACT⚡️.

As designers, we shape the material world today more than ever. The question is how our creations positively impact our world, not limited to just human concerns 🌎.

As Phnam recognizes the new paradigm, the world is demanding from design practice today:

• Complexity is the baseline.

• Silos are breaking down.

• Purpose is no longer optional.

• The human touch is gaining value.

• Design is global by default.

I would add a sixth bullet:

• Technology is here to serve our world, making it more compassionate and just for all, not just for humans.

Looking forward to working together in person in Michigan soon!

Thank you to the Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA) for the invitation

In moments of doubt, we think of places that inspired us to be original.

“I think the word original is misunderstood in modern world, because oracle means the source.

It means old, the beginning. So original actually means going back to the source.

But in our modern culture, it’s so obsessed with new things. Must have new things. It’s a very masculine, dominated way of looking at the world.

It must have new things all the time. But in nature, everything goes back to the source.”

🌎Vuelvo al sur… cómo se vuelve siempre al amor.
Llevo al sur como un destino del corazón 🎶🌎❤️

BA, it never gets tired, it’s music, good food, art, urban planning, landscape, and its people. Su buena gente, su dignidad…🎶

Thank you to my dear friends Romina & Max for giving us a reason to come back to this place in the south!

An opportunity to get inspired by the city’s style and its residents. An opportunity to celebrate love, life, friendship, and the wonder of us

Buenos Aires and its tangos, a music of emotion, a dance of silence and unspoken languages

Buenos Aires, its museums, and good art.
An unexpected retrospective of my favorite Olga de Amaral, a textile artist from Colombia, a master influencer of my work.

The street and its individual creative expressions: each building is different from the next, yet connected in seamless, not homogeneous harmony

Street art, landscape design. Just like the fashion in the streets, style isn’t lacking. So refreshing to see its urban residents express, through their choice of wear, no one is just like the other. They speak with their words, their hands, their loud thoughts, and their fashion choices. A fashion style moment of inspiration with beautiful

The countryside, a grill like only you all know… a blue ski, your history, and the flag 🇦🇷

¡Buenos Aires! So inspiring and fun, we hope to be back soon!

Thank you, Máximo and Ro, for bringing us together!
