Did you know that ring-tailed lemurs are endangered and their populations are decreasing?

Dr. Marni LaFleur, Lemur Love’s founder and director explains, “People think they are safe from extinction because they are prevalent at zoos globally, at tourist destinations in Madagascar, and are popular in movies and media'', however habitat degradation, hunting and the illegal pet trade threaten their existence. Their habitats are now fragmented in small patches which makes it difficult for ring-tailed lemurs to move safely between groups of different populations.
