My clients have four daughters, and they LOVE to craft. Painting, sewing, slime making, you name it.

We couldn’t find the perfect art table that was big enough to hold everything and everyone, so we built one!

What do you think?! Comment “Art Table” below, and I can send you more information about how we built this!

My client and her family moved into their home about 4 years ago. During that time, she’s organized and made functional most every room in the house—except the linen/medicine closet outside the bathroom.

Simply put, she struggled because of the weird depth, and in her own words “not the right bins.”

Part of being a professional organizer is knowing the right products to use. Because the shelves weren’t adjustable, and the distances between were large, it needed stackable products to take advantage of the vertical space.

We used a combination of stacking drawers to “go up” between shelves. Granted, it wasn’t a 100 percent perfect fit because the door width was smaller than the closet width—and you lost a couple of inches on each side in order for the drawers to open—but overall I’d say this is MUCH more functional.

What do you think? Do you use stacking drawers in linen/medicine cabinets?

I absolutely LOVE what I do.

The past [almost] 6 years have been such a dream. Yes, there have been times when I wanted to scream and/or quit, but doing something I love every day is totally worth it.

My prayer for every person is that they get to enjoy their work. After being in an office job for 18 years, I knew that I needed something different. I needed adventure, variety, autonomy, and flexibility. I wanted to do something that was “mine.”

Here are 3 reasons I LOVE being a business owner and professional organizer:

1) Every day is different! I get to run a business—I actually really like the financial and operational parts of business—AND organize. If I want to organizer, I book client work; if I want some time off for vacation, I take time. It’s everything to me to have variety and ownership over what my day looks like.

2) I get to help people! When I started my business, it was really for me. I knew there was demand for this type of service, but I wasn’t thinking about other people; I was thinking about what I wanted and what type of career I wanted to pursue. Helping people has been the PERFECT byproduct, and truthfully I didn’t realize how much I could help people until I really got started.

3) It keeps me active! I spent 18 years in an office environment, rarely moving and always “tied” to a desk. I love being on my feet all day, getting in my steps, and feeling like I’m out and about. Plus, I hate working out, so this job keeps me at least somewhat in shape. :-)
