Our second generation started laying this past week. Now we are getting these super adorable miniature green eggs. Our guess is they are from Diller, our black baby bantam with a white Silkie head. She roosts on a mushroom. It's full blown Alice in Wonderland in the backyard right now.

Garlic scape harvest day. This picture never gets old no matter how many times I take it. A million greens coming out of the ground. Baby chicks are getting big and learned about eating kale yesterday. We had to say goodbye to Bacon, Sushi, Saki, Blanch and Trump yesterday. Alfredo is the lone adult male and although a hard choice, it was the right one. I finally got to feed my girls by hand again today.

Summer Solstice. Indeed the longest day of the year at GMB. The homestead was up at 5AM and going strong all day. This is mulched and mostly planted with a token chicken shot just after a rain storm. Plans to integrate the new flock in with the old unfold tomorrow.
