Need help reclaiming your yard?

Landscaping is usually meant to last around 15 years. After that, those plants and trees need to be replaced due to die-back, outgrowing their intended space, etc.

Our clients wanted to basically start from scratch. They decided to keep the crape myrtles and ligustrum.

During their next phase, they will add a new walkway from the driveway to their middle level where their deck landing is. They have chosen to plant a few broadleaf evergreen landscaping plants and put mulch down for erosion control.

The before and after really shows how open and big a yard can feel after clearing out overgrown landscaping.

2 Removals Today in Athens:

1 oak in decline with evidence of basal rot and 1 dead pine, both located within the ACC right of way.

We were contracted to remove these 2 trees in an effort to reduce the risk potential to nearby residents, pedestrians, and vehicular traffic.

Care was given to preserve existing hardscape, roadways, and nearby trees.

Thankful to serve our local community!

Why leave ample hinge wood?

The more hinge wood (in certain species, like this white oak) the more you can control the "fall speed" of the pole.

The more hinge wood you leave, the slower the fall. It helps to have mechanical assistance aiding in pulling the tree over during this process as well.

In this scenario, it didn't really matter, but you have to practice when you can and where it doesn't really matter if you mess up. This technique is usually used in controlled felling situation over driveways, sidewalks, and sod.
