A N**e Painting by Shirley Gittelsohn now in the collection of Wade Evans.

"The first naked woman Wade Evans saw was his mother. The second was Shirley Gittelsohn in a n**e self portrait. The memory of that picture stuck with Wade and when he grew up he grabbed the opportunity to get a painting by Shirley Gittelsohn of a n**e model, which he now keeps in his home music studio.
Wade grew up on Hamilton Street, next door to our grandparents Poppy and Lala Georges and two doors from our Georges cousins Andra, Emily and Danny. Wade was the same age as Emily and a year older than I, John Gittelsohn. Wade became the manager of John and Dan, a duo whose only songs were “Surfer Boy,” inspired by the Beach Boys, and “Big Baby Windstorm,” inspired by the 1962 Columbus Day storm, that blew through the Northwest. Wade and I also bonded over setting plastic model cars on fire. Wade is a talented guitarist who in high school joined the Tutu Band, a Dadaist-inspired jazz-rock group that still performs around Portland. His younger brother, Scott, bought Shirley Gittelsohn’s house at 6260 SW Hamilton Way, where Scott’s widow Claire still lives."

We have many still life's of Shirley's framed in Studio Judy G. A beautiful frame makes the world of difference in an art piece's appearance. The type of glass is equally important. Which do you prefer: old glass, modern glass, or plexi glass?
