This lakeside cottage is well on its way to becoming a beautiful vacation getaway, and we're excited to be part of the journey. From its original condition to the progress you see today, this project is taking shape as a future VRBO retreat where families and friends can gather, relax, and enjoy everything lake life has to offer.
There’s still more to come, but seeing the difference already is a reminder of what’s possible with a little hard work, planning, and craftsmanship.

Another cottage project wrapped up by Maas Home Improvements! ✨

This recent refresh included:
🔨 Repairing rotted siding
🪵 Patching holes and damaged areas
🎨 Repainting two sides of the cottage
🏠 Fresh paint on the soffit
🚪 Installing a new threshold in the sun porch

Sometimes a handful of smaller repairs and updates can completely freshen up a property and help protect it for years to come! It can also be overwhelming to homeowners to figure out how to triage and budget in an effort of fixing but maybe not all at once. We are able to help by triaging to buy some time preventing further damage and yet not breaking the bank.

We love helping bring these older cottages back to life while keeping their charm intact. ☀️🌲

A little boathouse refresh happening over here! 🌊🏡

We replaced three rows of siding and installed treated 2x6 boards along the bottom to help prevent future rot and moisture damage. We also scraped and painted the siding, soffit, and fascia to give everything a clean updated look.

To finish it off, we installed a brand new door and fully trimmed out both the interior and exterior! 🚪🔨

New shower, shower doors, toilet, vanity, mirror, towel bars, updated lighting, flooring and more really brought this space back to life!

Living Room Glow-Up in Progress ✨

Here’s a little behind-the-scenes of this 100+ year old cottage getting a fresh start!
These living room walls have seen a LOT over the years… and now it’s their turn for an update. We’re keeping the character right where it belongs, just giving it that clean, refreshed feel that brings everything back to life.
It’s always amazing watching a space go from tired to timeless and honoring the customer’s vision and requests!
