What is everyone's "go-to" meal on a snow day like today? My usual is chili but I tried something new today... first time making Broccoli Cheddar soup. I think it's s winner! 😁 With the help of my lovely assistant... he vowed long ago to always grate my cheese for me. 🥰

Working at the shop today (Market & Company) and I've talked to a lot of folks from Big Spring Tx that are in town (Weatherford) for a wedding. I don't know who the happy couple is... but if any of you knows who got married Friday night in Weatherford with family and friends in town from Big Spring... you tell them I said they got good people!!! 😁 I felt like i was talking to family. I mean we could be... one of them had family in and around Dumas. Congrats to the newlyweds and may they have a lifetime of happiness and blessings!!! 🥰

We all know about comfort food... but how about comfort cooking? Today i experienced comfort cooking with this oldie but goodie. I had some really ripe bananas, perfect for banana bread. As I normally do... i googled recipes and scrolled thru several... but none of them really spoke to me. What was calling my name was this old cookbook. It's dated 1989... i think my mom gave me this when i married my ex in 1990. Back when googling wasn't an option... you were on your own in your kitchen and that was sometimes a little scary when starting out. This old cookbook served me well for many years. I don't really remember the details of the first time i made banana bread... but i remember using this cookbook and i remember feeling good about it. Using it again today was like cooking with an old friend. 😊 ok gotta now and check the oven timer! 😋

One last post for the day. I love this too because... well... I am truly blessed and it's just pretty. 😊 These are the perfect size for a cheese and cracker (or any snack) tray! It is about 13" long and 6" wide and is dishwasher, microwave and oven safe. 😍
