Can you see the yellowing of the grass? This is from mowing Tall Fescue too short. Tall Fescue wants to be mowed around 3.5”-4” in the Spring and Bermuda/Zoysia around 2”-3.”

We commonly hear people say "I mow my lawn short so it doesn't have to be mowed as much." Truthfully, you aren't getting ahead of grass when you do this. The grass needs the green leaves on the top so it reaches for the sun and grows faster. It uses a lot of it's energy while doing this and in return weakens the plant and makes it susceptible to problems. So our recommendation is to only remove 1/3 of the grass blade during a mow. If after mowing there are clumps, like in the picture, either bag or mulch them in by mowing over the clippings again until you can’t see them. These grass clippings will smother the grass underneath it and damage the lawn in return.

During our busiest season (March-November), expect 40-50 hours per week (sometimes more). We try not to work weekends, but with weather, it does happen occasionally (Sundays are usually off).
