🙌🏼 Another organized photo collection!
The project took over a year to complete, but was so worth the process!! And now this family can bless their kids with an organized collection of their childhood.
Initially this client asked me to take the mess of about 10,000 printed photos and organize them on my own because it was so overwhelming for her. When I learned they have 7 sons, which includes a set of identical twins, I knew there was no way I’d be able to identify and sort these photos on my own. I needed her to complete the first round of sorting along with a questionnaire that listed important dates. So I came over and helped her start the organizing process and once she realized it wasn’t so bad she was able to finish the sorting without me.
Once the photos were sorted by person/category I was able to organize each group by date on my own, based on my knowledge of how photos looked during each time period, the info from the questionnaires and the estimated age of each child in the photos.
Tip- When dating your print photos, you don’t have to be exact. I find it works well to use decades for groupings of people or you can categorize individuals in these date ranges: Baby, Toddler/Pre-School, Elementary School, Middle School, High School, Adult.
I love getting to know my clients through their photo story and I also love that my clients can actually view and enjoy their memories at the end of the process.
