Regarding the VISION ZERO INITIATIVE in West Hartford, which continually is in the news every few months with each pedestrian death, here is a logical solution that has been bothering me since I was 7 years old and travelled to Massachusetts on vacation.

In Connecticut, there is no collective knowledge nor culture of behavior nor unconscious instinct to stop for pedestrians waiting in the edge of the crosswalk to cross. I've seen no mention of a PLAN FOR EDUCATIONAL EFFORT NOR ANY ENFORCEMENT INTIATIVE to shift the knowledge and compliance with duty to stop. If a driver visits a pedestrian downtown in Massachusetts, it becomes clear as night and day that the public has a longheld respect for crosswalk laws in that state. Connecticut, starting with West Hartford, needs to be educated and held accountable, with https://www.facebook.com/westhartfordpolicedepartment taking the lead.
