Here is a project I did early this year. They wanted the wood with a lighter more updated look. So many people think the only way to lighten up a kitchen is to paint the cabinets. This shows you that you can lighten the cabinets with a glaze stain and still have the movement of the grain showing through. Another kitchen cabinet project in the books.

I did this project for a designer/client I’ve worked with for years. She ordered new cabinets in a white oak and got the mix of oak. She called me to change it. So I painted the cabinets then glazed, tipped and clear coated them. I also stained the faux beams in their shower area. I love how it all turned out.

A lot of people don’t realize we do standard painting as well as the decorative finishes. In this home we did 4500sq feet of trim and doors throughout the house. The majority of the work was taking the golden oak to an off white. We prepped, primed and painted the woodwork. On these accent areas we went from a cherry stained oak to Sherwin Williams Gauntlet Gray. What a transformation that gives the home a completely different and updated look.

Here’s a project I did this summer. I had to go back to do a minor touch up. It was so fun to go back and see it all put together. The cloud wall I did in a faux stone and the back wall in a metallic stria.

Oven hoods can sometimes be hard to nail down. I had a client that was looking at one that was going to cost thousands of dollars. She showed me the picture. I told her I could replicate the finish. The contractor built the hood out of poplar. I then base coated and put two metallic finishes over it. All was done at a fraction of the cost.

I finished up this fun project yesterday. First I did the back wall in a finish called Zendaya I learned from the amazing Sheri Zeman. It’s a metallic grass cloth type of look. The contractors then put up the floating wall and I came back and did a marble texture finish on that I can’t wait to see it completely done and decorated.
