Does the floor plan or elevation drive the design? It often depends on the project, but our process is usually a mix of both. For this residential addition the existing house geometry and site limitations set the footprint of the addition. A focus on the exterior aesthetic as seen from the street guides the floor plan just as much as the plan influences the facade and form. From here, the concept sketches will take shape in the 3D model for presentation graphics sent to the client.
