🥋 At 48 years old, after 2 years and 5 months on the mat—including a 9-month break—I earned my blue belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.

I took my first class on my birthday, February 1st, 2023, not knowing how much this journey would shape me. What started as a physical challenge quickly became something deeper. Through life’s inevitable ups and downs, Jiu Jitsu became an anchor—a reminder that progress isn’t always linear, but perseverance pays off.

This belt isn’t just about technique or time. It represents discipline through adversity, growth through struggle, and the power of showing up—even when it’s hard.

Thank you to my coaches and teammates at Core Academy for the support, guidance, and tough love along the way. I’m proud of this milestone and excited for what’s ahead.

🌡️🔥 Heatwave Help for Our Elderly & Homebound Neighbors in Wilton 🔥🌡️

The temps are soaring this week, and I know how dangerous that can be—especially for older adults or anyone who can’t easily get out or cool down. If you or someone you love in Wilton is struggling to stay safe and comfortable during this heatwave, please reach out.

My air-conditioned home is open for anyone who needs a break from the heat. You’re welcome to cool off inside or take a dip in the pool. If transportation or mobility is a challenge, I’m also happy to come to you and help however I can—whether it’s dropping off cold drinks, checking in, or helping with errands.

This is about community, compassion, and looking out for one another. Please don’t hesitate to message me privately if you or someone you know could use a hand.

Today I was asked by a mentor to “take a card”.
It was a good reminder of something that I tell my kids often. Too much of anything is a bad thing—work, exercise, religion, food, money, drink, lust, power and even something as simple as too much water can be unhealthy for you.

Take a moment today to check in with yourself. Where are you leaning too far? Where is your life needing balance and moderation?
