I have one Spanish Civil War M35 left. These are great options if you're on a budget. Originally these were made in the only two operating German helmet factories at the time. Either Eisenhüttenwerk, or Sachsishe Emaillerwerke. The helmets were sent to Spain painted either apple green or Luftwaffe blue. The shells were unmarked; no lot number or factory stamps. They were worn by both Spanish troops and German members of Condor Legion. This one comes as it might have looked in early 1937 with an unreinforced aluminum frame liner, brass liner pins, and a chinstrap with aluminum hardware. Newly restored Japanese Type 90 circa 1938. Early Type 90s often feature a glossy finish brush painted over chemical black treated steel. There are several shade of "dead grass" brown utilized by Japanese helmet manufacturers ranging from green brown to more yellow.. This particular color was duplicated from and original dated 1938.
