Gill Fencing

Gill Fencing I provide quality, well-built fences of different styles to fit every budget. You will find a more expensive fence, but you will not find one built as well.

I’m behind on posting, but we are as busy as ever. Last week the guys were spoiled with no tear out jobs. It’s always nice when you can just show up and start building a new fence where there wasn’t one before.

We were in Maize and Park City for some customers with brand new homes, and El Dorado for a customer for a new to them home. Lots of miles and fuel, but getting the calls and texts afterwards from customers gushing about the crew and their new fence is worth it.

I’m never caught up, but I’m as caught up as I’m going to be for now. A weekend at the lake will recharge my batteries, and we’ll be back to doing quotes early next week. Don’t hesitate to reach out so you can get on my list.

This week we “only” did two jobs, but they were complete transformations for two customers. The first job humbled the guys in a lot of ways. It involved working through a lot of issues, and that made for some really long days.

The second job was mostly a re-skin on existing steel posts, but we had to add more posts and 5 gate frames.

I’m taking the weekend off from quotes, but I’ll be right back to it next week. Let me know if you would like one, and please suggest us when you see people who need a fence.

The first job pictured here is why we always recommend steel posts. This fence was originally installed 26 years ago. We pulled the old lumber down and re-skinned it last week. The original installer did some things wrong, and we did our best to fix those issues.

The rest of our week was a little ornamental steel, some chain link, and a complete tear out and replacement on a privacy fence for an old friend of mine.

The guys worked around some adversity this week to make 4 customers happy. One of them is a multiple repeat customer.

Our work truck has been extremely reliable, but the guys had a brake failure on Monday morning. If you know anything about HD trucks, you know anything brake related isn’t cheap. I came out with them to move them around with my truck, and we got their’s back on Tuesday afternoon.

They didn’t miss a beat, and they still finished the week a day early.

We’d love nothing more than to put you on our list of satisfied customers. Give me a call, text or send us a message if you’d like a free quote.

Last week the guys worked some long hours on a couple days to work around rain days that were forecasted.

They did a black chain link job north of Valley Center that was over 400’. It has our customer’s dog living his best life.

They also did an awesome privacy fence in east Wichita for a long time friend of mine. They worked until dark to get this one done, so the pictures aren’t the best quality.

On Thursday they finished up with two smaller jobs where they replaced gate areas in Park City and east Wichita.

Keep us in mind as you watch your old fence struggle against these winds we’ve been having. I’d love to give you a free quote on what it would take to have peace of mind when the wind gets to blowing.

We are ending the week with four happy customers, but one of them wasn’t even scheduled for this week.

Monday morning we were scheduled to start two jobs in Maize, but one of the customers asked us to hold off because they just paid a lot of money for new sod that wasn’t established yet. Completely understandable, but it was going to put a big dent in the week.

We can’t usually just jump straight to another job. There are several things which go into each job before we ever dig a post hole, but the main one is having the utilities marked. I just so happened to have a job on the schedule that didn’t need that done. That is rare, but we made a hard pivot and drove to ElDorado.

Have a look at what the guys pulled off this week. It’s the same level of quality and attention to detail that you’ve all come to expect from this team.

This week we were in Goddard, Park City and Bel Aire. The Goddard job was a complete tear out and rebuild. I had the guys get some before pictures so you can see the major improvement.

Our schedule is filling up fast, but we have plenty of room if you want to jump on it. I’ll be out doing bids this weekend so let me know if you’d like one.

If a potential fence contractor tells you they will build you a gate with any kind of lumber, don’t use them. There’s nothing more annoying than a gate that doesn’t work right, and that’s one of the places we set ourselves apart from the rest of those companies. You pay good money for a new fence. Your gates should last, and they should work.

Steel is the answer. A steel framed gate, hung off of a steel post, and latched to a steel post.

Ask them what their warranty is on gates. Most of them don’t have one, but we do.

I know a lot of fences blew down yesterday, and we are getting to those calls asap. There is still plenty of room on our list for a quote.

It was a bit of a light week for us considering what we normally do. The guys still did some excellent work, and got plenty of compliments from the customers.

The first job you see here was for a customer we have worked for three times now in College Hill. They needed to section off part of their yard for their dogs because they are building a new garage. They wanted it 4’ tall, so that meant a lot of cutting.

The second job was for a customer in NW Wichita that I was able to squeeze in this week. She went from hiring us to the last screw in ten days.

I’m doing bids almost every single day, so we are about to fill our schedule up for months. It’s a great time to grab your spot!

I had the guys in Valley Center, Bel Aire and west Wichita installing a total of about 600’ of privacy fence this week.

For perspective that means they set 88 posts, used 100 bags of 80 lb concrete, went though 230 2x4 rails, hung 1,045 cedar pickets, ran 7,500 screws through the screw guns, and hung 7 gates. It made me sore just typing that.

My calls for quotes are definitely picking up, but I can always fit another one in. Please continue to keep us in mind when you see requests for fence company referrals. Have a great weekend!

The boys got to stay relatively close to home with jobs in Haysville and Derby last week. This week they will put a lot more miles in.

I see those recommendations, and we appreciate it immensely. Keep them coming when you get the chance!

Everyone have a blessed week.
