Shoutout to our friends at RedGuard for a strong showing at the NDTA Fall Meeting this week. Connecting with military leaders, logistics professionals, and defense industry partners — that’s where the real work starts. Proud to be part of The LANGE Companies family alongside a team doing this kind of work.

Federal procurement has a lot of people involved before a structure ever gets built: contracting officers, program managers, installation commanders, facility engineers, and more.

None of them are the ones using it at 0300.

CoverSix thinks about the security officer on the overnight shift, the analyst inside a classified facility, the medic treating a patient in a forward aid station, the range safety officer running a live-fire exercise. They did not track the procurement. They just need the structure to hold up without them thinking about it.

That is who we build for. And that is the standard we build to.

A forward aid station treating casualties and a federal research laboratory running sensitive experiments have very different workflows. But they share one foundational requirement: the room has to be built for the work that happens inside it.

CoverSix designs and builds modular medical field offices, aid stations, and laboratory and clinical facilities with the actual work in mind: proper utility routing, instrumentation support, clinical fit-out, and the finish quality that medical and research programs demand. Past performance includes delivery to Los Alamos National Laboratory.

Federal construction projects that split design, contracting, and fabrication across separate firms create one consistent problem: when something goes wrong, nobody owns it completely.

CoverSix Design/Build Modular Construction eliminates that problem by running everything under one scope. Site studies, engineering, architectural design, fabrication, and installation are all coordinated by one team, from first drawing to final handoff. The schedule is tighter because there are no handoffs between organizations to manage. And when there is a problem, there is one phone call.

Different training missions bring different safety and design requirements. Ballistic containment, ricochet control, Surface Danger Zones, ventilation, egress, security, and other considerations may all affect a training facility. Our blog post looks at why those requirements need to be considered early.

A MILCON-funded construction project can take five years from requirement to ribbon cutting. Most operational facility needs do not have that kind of runway.

CoverSix modular structures are eligible for Operations and Maintenance funding, which compresses the entire process from site study to occupancy into a timeline that actually matches the urgency of the requirement. For installation commanders and Contracting Officers working against a real deadline, that is not a minor distinction.

Am******on and explosive storage at a federal installation is not a place where "good enough" is an acceptable outcome. The material inside the structure defines the standard the structure has to meet. Full stop.

CoverSix modular storage magazines are built past that floor: proper blast separation, access control that functions under daily operational use, and a structure that arrives on your installation without requiring a MILCON funding cycle or years of construction lead time.

Steel is still the foundation of most hardened structures. It’s not just about strength. It’s about how it integrates into a complete protective system. More on our blog:

Learn how ballistic-resistant materials perform in real security design and why steel remains the foundation of hardened structures.

There's a lot more to a training range than the firing line. CQC and MOUT facilities, shoot houses, observation positions, protected viewing bunkers, storage, and support spaces may all play a role in the larger training environment. Learn how CoverSix approaches training facilities around mission requirements.

Training facilities work best when they're designed around the mission. From weapons and firing distances to tactical movement, personnel, and future training needs, the facility’s intended use should drive the design. See what goes into planning military training facilities in our blog post.
