The workmanship on this bike is unmatched. I’m getting to know her and appreciating the quality of materials and engineering that went into the design. She took a little longer to get here, so the company threw in for free almost every accessory I was planning to get anyway; an alarm system, tool kit, phone holder, and extra heavy duty chain lock. The custom wood chain guard is unique to Electric Bike Company. They also make in their shop wood fenders, but I opted for blue ones. I might switch sometime later. For now, I like these. The back rack is the MIK system, designed by Dutch engineers. It is genius! You can attach just about anything with one click, and it is secured by lock and key. I bought a metal basket I like to haul stuff in that includes a doggie carrier. Steve will attach the MIK adapter to it so it’s easy to change out. The seat is, well, just wow! It’s like an easy chair. It has suspension in it (so does the front fork) so rolling over bumps and holes don’t jar my body. The whole frame is wired to accommodate right and left blinkers, brake lights, high beam and low beam headlights and a horn, not to mention the PAS system that drives the 750W motor. The throttle helps me get up hills, and this thing will do up to 28 mph! The best technology has gone into the hydraulic brake system and Shimano gears with a 60 tooth chain. I don’t know where I could get a better quality bicycle. This should be the last bike I ever need to buy. My doctor has order 36 minutes (I don’t know why that number) of cardio every day, and she says this fills the bill. So, if you see me around the area, honk a hello. I promise to toot back! 😁

Just when we thought we were empty nesters…
Two hanging ferns have been home to 5 clutches of red finches this year. The last fledgling took flight a week ago. Today, we saw a mama finch going to the fern and decided to look in. How did she lay and hatch this egg so fast?!
One baby is flourishing. Another one looks like he didn’t make it. We will keep watch!

The home was purchased in 1992 as a 6-year-old private residence on .77 acres of land on the edge of a subdivision. It had very little to recommend it except it’s location, 2,400 square feet of living space and an excellent builder. It was, and still is, as solid as a rock.
This page will show how the house and property blossomed into Birdsong with many updates, and how it continues to flourish with beautiful gardens and wildlife visitors. The resident pup is always on guard!
