🪴Growth Style/Patterns:
This plant has a clumping growth pattern and can grow up to 5-7ft tall.
☀️Light Preference:
The Colocasia likes bright indirect light. Be careful, these leaves can burn.
🌸🌿Flowers/Foliage: These plants are well known for their large, shield or “elephant ear” leaves. They come in amazing colors and with some colorful stems. This plant's leaves will need dusting. You can tell this is a Colocasia because the leaf tips point down (an Alocasia will point up). Remove aging leaves to preserve plant energy. Because the size of the leaves can get so large they can become top heavy, plant in an appropriate container.
🌱Propagation: To propagate these plants you will need to divide the root clump. This plant can become invasive.
💦These plants love water and moisture. Do not let them dry out past your first knuckle. These plants can even be grown aquatically. Using them in cute ponds or water features can be fun. Make sure there is humidity in the air for this plant.
🤎Food/Fertilizer/Soil: Moisture retaining soil is best for the Colocasia. It a frequent feeding.
🦗Pests: spider mites
