While we are headed back to the Stephens City Farmers Market tomorrow our oldest will be setting up his own table with his creations he's worked hard making and painting along with some plants he's transplanted. Our oldest has officially created his business name which is "Creations by Jackson" He took his clay creations and painted them last week and we sealed them up this evening to give them that nice glow. He also planted some spider plant babies and a few other babies too. He is excited to set up his table along with mine during events to earn money for something down the road.

Don't let "my ground is too tough" or "I don't have the resources to grow anything" stop you from doing it anyway. Our ground would need A LOT of work to be able to directly plant into the ground. Most of everything we use is laying around the house and easy to clean up in the fall. This evening we finally got our seeds started, herds are in buckets, 2 batches of red onions, we got spinach and a variety of lettuce in half of a box and more onions on the other side. The kids planted their tomato plants they got at markets. Once the seeds start to sprout we will add them either in a bucket or add more boxes.

Canning in the summer is not for the weak (IYKYK)when the kitchen can reach 90+ degrees with all stove burners going. So this year with the amount of canning I have already done, I didn't want to burn my stove up. I had an idea and the Mr brought it to life. Your canned goods will now be water bathed outside on an open fire! I am beyond excited to use this setup and show the kids how our ancestors used to water bath their canned goods.

Look what just came out of the water bath.....Our first batch of Bloody Mary Pickles!! You guys are lucky these are going to events/markets with us because these are by far our favorite pickles so far! And it's just not store bought bloody mary mix, this is homemade bloody mary mix so you know it's just as tasty as our other pickles. We have 4 medium jars and 3 small jars!
