Public Safety Announcement. If you see this discoloration on your vent or the neighbors vent please notify your local hvac technician and or fire department for air monitoring as soon as possible. This raises a lot of red flags and should be addressed immediately. Clearly there are some gas issues causing this vent to overheat and could easily cause carbon monoxide poisoning in the home or a house fire.
