WHAT IS WEATHER STOP?
Garage door weather stops, also known as weather seals, are seals installed on all 4 sides of your garage door to create a barrier against the elements. These seals typically consist of rubber or vinyl strips that fit tightly against the door frame and floor to prevent air, water, dust and pests from entering the garage.
Purpose: Weather stop improves energy efficiency by reducing drafts, helps prevent water damage, and protects the
garage from pests.
Placement: It is installed along the top, sides and bottom of your garage door.
Types: There are various types of weather stop, including bottom seals(rubber or vinyl) side seals, top seals(like flap seals or brush seals)
Benefits: By sealing gaps, weather stop helps:
Reduce energy consumption by preventing heat from escaping and cold air from entering.
Protects the garage by keeping out water, dust, debris and other pests.
Mice chew through the weather stop all the time- we do offer rodent block bottom seals. For persistent rodent issues rodent block seals are available for some makes and models of doors.
Maintenance: Weather stops can wear out over time. So it’s very important to check for damage and replace it as needed
