Please take a moment to read the message that Nicole has written on behalf of both her and I. We are EACH matching dontions up to $500, for a total of $1000. We would like to be able to do so much more, and we are in the process of coming up with some additional things that her and I could do to help benefit the families of the Fallen Police Officers, as well as the officers who still remain injured. For now, take a look at the message that she’s written:
I think it goes without saying that Derek and I share in the grief that not only the families of our respected Fallen Officers are feeling, but our York County community take a look at the as a whole. Neither Derek or I will ever say that we know how they feel - how could we? How would most people know exactly what they are feeling in the days that have follwed thjs horrific tragedy. Standing out in the rain on Wednesday night, waiting to pay our respects, as the processional of Law Enforcement, EMS, etc.. came down Route 30, escorting our Fallen Heroes to Concord Road, was absolutely surreal to us. I’ve gotten to do and see a lot of wonderful things in this lifetime. But hands-down, that was the most somber moment that I have ever experienced. Truth be told, Derek and I feel that we would like to do something to honor these three courageous men. Men who made the ultimate sacrifice for our community. We personally know 3 of the fallen officers. This sensless tragedy has kept both of us awake at night. So here we are, just two local business entrepreneurs that love our county beyond measure. York Pennsylvania is home to both of us, a place where we were both born and raised. We live here, we work here, and we are raising a son here as well. We won’t pretend to know that we have the answers to fix what is clealry broken. So in the meantime, what both of us do know how to do, is to love. We love fiercely. We know how to show up for people, and we are not afraid to do so.
With that said, I want to remind people that Northern York County Police Department has set up a secure web portal to make any kind of monetary donations, as people see fit. If any of our friends donate, please private message either Derek or myself with what you have donated, it will of course be kept 100% private. The reason we ask is because between our two businesses, we are going to match every donation up to $500. PLEASE do not send myself or Derek any money. We ask and encourage you that if you feel compelled to donate, to please use the secure, vetted link that has been established for the Fallen Officers, as well as the 2 officers who are still fighting for their lives in the hospital.
