📍York County, Pennsylvania I want you to know that it's safe to slow down to the gentle pace of the natural world. It's safe to let go of perfectionism and simply start showing up where you are, with what you have - for

yourself, your local community (human and more than human), and the Earth. So far, it’s led me to writing journal articles about home, garden, motherhood & spirituality and hosting creative seasonal gatherings for women in York, Pennsylvania. Cross Quarter Club is a creative seasonal living club for gardeners and nature lovers based in York County, Pennsylvania. Since the Winter of 2022, CQC has cultivated spaces to come together, slow down, embrace the season, learn something new, and just to be. There are no entry or membership requirements to join. Our events include creative seasonal workshops, and circles for sharing and learning together. Cross Quarter Club’s ethos is rooted in the neo-pagan Wheel of the Year, AND we affirm that living in close connection with the rhythms of the natural world is part of our universal shared heritage as humans. In addition to cross-quarter day inspired workshops, CQC has had a monthly garden series running since July 2023. Our first iteration was Garden Walks, a collaboration with Sharon from when she still lived in New Freedom! We kept Garden Walks going through the end of 2024. Then in late winter 2025, Sharon and I led Garden Circle - a structured educational series for preparing for the gardening season. After we bid bon voyage to Sharon when she moved to Texas that summer, we shifted into Garden Socials, a monthly potluck dinner hosted at members gardens. Thank you to and for being the first two hosts of Garden Socials!

For 2026, we are combining the best of all 3 garden themed event series into our new Garden Circle: a completely FREE monthly circle + potluck hosted at club members’ home gardens. We will meet one Friday a month from 5-8pm, gathering for circle at 6 pm. Within the circle, we will each answer the question “What are you excited about this month/season”? And also have time dedicated for gardening focused content and Q&A.

Taking time to wander, explore our hosts’ gardens, and “stop and smell the roses” is highly encouraged! We will also have a Sharing Table at each Garden Circle, plus a table set up for Cross Quarter Club with info and some fun club merch!

The goal is really to provide a consistent, community-focused space where we can gather to relax any the end of the work week, nourish our eyes with garden beauty, our hearts with genuine connection, and our minds with new learning and inspiration!

If you have Irish heritage and/or you’re curious about European folk history and ritual crafts, you will love our Brigid Cross Craft Night!

Brigid Crosses have been made in Ireland since ancient times and continue to be crafted on January 31st, as an observance of Imbolc/St. Brigid’s Day Eve. These crosses were hung in homes, over hearths and in barns to invoke the blessing of the pagan goddess, Brigid, who after the Christianization of Ireland was merged with the Catholic saint, St. Brigid of Kildare. This folk custom encapsulates both pagan and Christian tradition, and is deeply interwoven into Irish culture.

Come learn the techniques and you can incorporate this craft into your own annual traditions, using dried grasses foraged from your neighborhood or garden. I have been making Brigid Crosses for the past 3 years and have a little collection of the ones I’ve made hanging over our kitchen door. It’s a simple and relaxing craft to make and I can’t wait to teach you how!
