Happy Sunday!

It's been a while.... and it feels great to co- create and allow inspiration to unfold a story.

Refound beauty in a troubled discard...

This girl was previously used as a bar above a built in cabinet. One of her sides was a little hacked from her install in a previous place.
She needed some repair to balance on the sides and was missing the best feature...that tiny space for creative or necessary writing when the main space is too full!

She is now a natural beauty. The raw tones have been enhanced with all over wax. Salve to the original makeup and compliment to her markings and story. The original depth of color remains untouched inside the drawers, and are a fun surprise of character. Real Wood makes for a reliable piece and the original porcelain k***s and writing tool notch seem just the right features for her original intentionality.

She now stands tall like a perfect shop desk or a writer's getaway on metal hairpin legs. Just enough to blend her old world with today's trends. Strong and delicate is her balance.

I used cane for a fun texture up front. Lots of overall visible age and marking.

Inside shelving waxed to enhance natural and original coloring.

Does not currently have a key

Perpetua and Felicitas comes from the devotions of 2 great saints who celebrate a beautiful femininity and relationship of sisterhood.
Marian blue was the original design muse and details continued to unfold on the journey.
This reciprocating pair is a dance of individual and complimentary features. Often a mirror of likeness yet a celebration of uniqueness.

The light color rope details to signify a holy cincture, the virtue of chastity, and the dedication of purity
The lace is to draw out the balance of dignity and regality, hidden and veiled beauty of creation, and the treasure in hidden and modest things.
The tiny gold and gemmed trim, alas, is like tiny monstrances surrounding all in light, life, and what is to behold.
Why the burlap? To draw out the simplicity and intentionality in raw, unfinished, and ongoing design.

Drop Sides and Gated Leg Dining table
Refinished up top in Jacobean to contrast and pop against those gorgeous legs in paled ocean blue!

Great pop of color and a decor conversation piece. Can be used in a small space closed up or open can seat at least 8 comfortably to double as backup when the house floods with guests!
