Portable generators can be lifesavers during outages — but only when used correctly.
✔️ Always operate generators outside, at least 20 feet from doors and windows
✔️ Never plug a generator directly into a wall outlet
✔️ Use heavy-duty, outdoor-rated extension cords
✔️ Let generators cool before refueling
✔️ Install carbon monoxide detectors in your home
