Hey everyone, with Hurricane Milton coming our way, I wanted to let everyone know about “The Compressor Defender”. Here in Polk City our lights flicker a lot. In storms it can go out and come back on repeatedly. This is horrible for your compressor in your AC unit. Everyone knows about power surges and has a surge protector, but what you don’t have is something that detects low voltage. Your home is 120/240 volt circuits and during the flickering you are getting less than 100/200 volts. What happens is your compressor can short cycle due to low voltage. This leads to the compressor overheating and shutting off and ultimately reduces the life of the compressor. With the Compressor Defender it detects low voltage in milliseconds and turns off the compressor for 5 minutes. If your lights flicker fast enough the clocks don’t reset, it’s fast enough that the thermostat doesn’t detect the drop to initiate its time delay. I bought all 10 I could last month so I have 8 on hand. Regular price for the defender with labor is $400 out the door. I’m offering them before this Hurricane hits at a discounted price of $325 installed out the door.
