🏡 Landlords: Let's get your portfolio future-proofed (and compliant!) by 2030.

We know the headlines about energy efficiency standards can be overwhelming. But here is the good news: you have a clear timeline, and we have a clear plan to help you get there without the stress.

👇 The Update You Need: The government has confirmed the new Warm Homes Plan: all private rental properties in England & Wales will need to meet a minimum EPC Rating of C by 1st October 2030.

This applies to all tenancies, not just new ones. While 2030 might feel far away, tradespeople and materials will be in high demand as the deadline gets closer. And with changes to the EPC in 2029, it may be worth registering compliance sooner rather than later. The best time to start planning? Right now.

💡 Beyond just ticking a compliance box, upgrading your property helps you:

Keep great tenants: Warmer homes mean lower bills and happier residents who stay longer.

Protect your asset: Proper insulation and ventilation reduce the risk of damp and mould.

Beat the rush: Avoid the "panic pricing" that could happen in 2029.

🛠 How Ecofurb makes it easy: You don't need to guess which upgrades will get you to a 'C'. Our Ecofurb Plan service takes the guesswork out of retrofit.

Check: We review your current property data to give you a quick starting point.

Advice: We'll tailor advice to your needs, property and budget that shows exactly what to install (and in what order) to hit that C rating.

Install: We can even connect you with vetted, quality-assured installers to get the job done right.

This report from Energy UK, based on data from Cotality (our parent company) shows how the UK government could help nearly 1 million UK households afford clean heating and electricity technology like heat pumps and solar panels.

Here’s the idea:

1️⃣ Use part of the Warm Homes Plan budget to make low-cost loans available.
2️⃣ These loans could help middle-income families upgrade their homes without big upfront costs.
3️⃣ With the right support, homes could cut energy bills by up to half (depending on your type of home).

At Ecofurb, we think this is a great plan. It’s based on strong research and good data. It could really help people who don’t get government grants and don’t have lots of money saved up. These families are often stuck, as they want to make their homes warmer and cheaper to run, but they can’t afford to.

We hope the UK government takes on these ideas to help more people get clean heating and electricity for their homes in the near future.

What do you think? Would you take out a low-cost loan if it helped you save on bills and reduce your home energy use?

It might be warm now, but we all know how quickly that changes.

Even in summer, some homes stay oddly cold or damp. And when winter rolls around, that's when things get tough - especially for people with asthma, arthritis, or mobility issues.

A new study says the NHS could save nearly £1.4 billion by 2050 if more homes were properly insulated and heated. That’s because cold, damp, unhealthy homes lead to more hospital visits and long-term health problems.

This is as clear a case as you can get for treating home retrofit as a way to improve peoples health - not just a way to cut carbon or save on bills. Because when your home works better, so do you.

Improving the energy efficiency of homes in England, while also accelerating the switch to electric kitchens and heating systems, could improve the health of millions and bring almost £1.4bn of savings for NHS England by 2050.

Why aren’t more UK homeowners installing solar panels?

Our Summer 2025 Home Retrofit Trends Index reveals that although awareness of energy efficiency is rising, only 7% of home-improving homeowners plan to install solar in the next year.

The UK Government’s Solar Roadmap is a big step forward, with new funding, training, and protections, but our research shows some key gaps remain:

🧩 Homeowners need simple, joined-up solutions. Not just solar, but insulation, heating, and more.
💸 New finance tools must be easy to understand and access.
🔧 Trust in installers takes time to build, and we need to move fast.

That’s where Ecofurb can help:
✅ We take a whole-house approach
✅ We help you access the right funding
✅ We can connect you with trusted, quality-assured installers today
