🌳 Fence Line Cleanup

This fence was being overtaken by vines and branches growing through from a neighboring tree.

We trimmed everything back, cleared the fence line, and opened the area back up.

Simple cleanup, big difference.

Would you tackle a project like this yourself?

🥒 Zucchini Update

A few days ago this zucchini was green and growing normally.

Now it’s turning yellow and starting to shrivel up.

The plant is still flowering and putting out healthy leaves, so I’m trying to figure out what happened.

Any zucchini experts know what’s going on?

🌱 Canna Lily Update — Day 50

I missed a few updates, but these canna lilies have been growing like crazy.

The last update was Day 21, and they’ve added a lot of height since then.

Still waiting on flowers, but they’re showing no signs of slowing down.

How tall do you think they’ll get by the end of summer?

🌶️ Sweet Banana Pepper Update

My first banana pepper is finally getting some size to it.

It’s looking pretty close to harvest-ready, but I’m debating whether to pick it now or let it grow a little longer.

Would you harvest it today or wait?

I’ll follow up with the harvest video soon.

Elephant ears update 🌱

I missed a few updates, but these elephant ears have been growing fast.

The last update was Day 14. This is Day 35, and they’re still putting out new growth.

How big do you think they’ll get by the end of summer?

🍑 Plum Tree Update #4

The plums keep getting bigger, and some of the Burbank plums are finally starting to turn reddish-purple.

A few plums actually fell into the fruit protection bags, but they were still edible and surprisingly delicious.

The Santa Rosa branch is still green, while the Burbank and Stanley branches seem to be getting close.

It looks like I may get to try all 3 plum varieties this year.

Which variety do you think will taste best?

Japanese beetles have been attacking my peach tree, plum tree, cherry tree, and rose bush.

I don’t use pesticides in my garden, so this is the method I’ve been using.

A cup of water, a drop of dish soap, and a little patience.

How do you deal with Japanese beetles?

Peach tree update 🍑

The fruit protection bags are still holding up, and the peaches keep getting bigger.

Right now it’s looking like I could harvest 20+ Harvester peaches this season 👀

How many do you think will make it all the way to harvest?

Garden problem of the week 😤

Japanese beetles are attacking my peach tree, plum tree, cherry tree, and even my rose bush.

The damage adds up fast if you don’t stay on top of them.

Anyone else dealing with Japanese beetles right now?

Muscadine update 🍇

The Cowart muscadine is still growing strong, and the grape clusters keep getting bigger.

After several years of waiting, it finally looks like I might get my first muscadine harvest.

The Tara Scuppernong is still growing too, just at a slower pace with no visible fruit yet.

Which vine do you think will produce first?
