When you look at the world through a zero waste lens there’s unexplored abundance everywhere.
It’s estimated we will build over 2 billion homes in the next 40 years - what an incredible opportunity to create not only shelter but habitat for wild life
A roof has the ability to be safe havens for wild life and offer protection like an island.
I’m designing a home for my mum with a roof designed to last hundreds of years, eliminate storm water run off by absorbing and holding up to 50mm of water.
Inspired by Colin Austins wicking bed.
Massively insulating the building from heat and cold, protection from bush fire and for me most importantly this roof design will become the foundation for life.
Designed for nesting and breeding of rare and endangered species of birds, butterflies and insects. Not accessible by foxes, cats or dogs that have decimated bird life in urban areas.
I am also hoping to finally realise organic certification for this home - a world.
I’m so excited to realise this!
We are busy engineering and testing, we will start the build in Monbulk soon.
Like the houses in Kinglake and Daylesford we will have open days for people to come and visit.
