It's been a while since I updated. Our pastor came over to help Terry finish the appliance bar wall. I wanted it to be a stone wall in honor of my daddy who was a stone mason.

The new pantry doors have been on for a while. I just need to brag on my hubby a little more. He built this entire custom-made cabinet from wood he had in the barn and it looks amazing!

New bathroom update!
It's been quite a while since I've posted on the new bathroom, which is nearly finished!
As you can see in the photos, it is fully handicap accessible (if/when a wheelchair becomes necessary), with a no-step, walk-in shower, grab bars in the shower, and accessible sink. We do plan to add shelves under there for now (which can be easily removed for a wheelchair). All that's left is to buy a mirror and medicine cabinet (I think we're going with a regular mirror and a separate cabinet) and a small storage cabinet along the left wall before the commode.
Isn't it beautiful? It's painted the same color to match our bedroom. Terry has yet to finish the barn doors with stain and seal and add a lock.
We love our new bathroom!

My favorite place to be!
We finally got the vinyl floor installed! What do you think?
We've still got pantry doors to make, stone to put on the appliance wall, and shoemold to put at each cabinet base.

Terry finished with polyurethane on the stained trim boards today! All of this lumber was stored in our barn for years and has been sanded for hours to look this good. Next up: repair drywall and paint the walls.

Progress on the living room!
It didn't take nearly as long as the kitchen because A) the sill plates were in tact, thus no need to jack up the house to replace the wooden beams; B) no need to deepen the crawl space or add gravel; and C) Terry is currently off work due to recovery from shoulder surgery in July (during the kitchen remodel he had Saturdays and 1/2 day Sundays to work on the project).
Today we paint and replace the trim to match the kitchen.

Kitchen Remodel Phase 2
As part of the kitchen remodel, it became necessary to remove the living room floor and replace the joists to support and level out the floor before installing the flooring in both rooms.
I didn't get any "before" photos, as Terry began disassembling the room while I was away. But here are some photos taken in the room during the past year as well as photos taken on demo day.

It's been awhile since I've posted here, not that work on the kitchen has stopped or anything!
Terry has worked on the pantry, which is all wood (he still has the doors to finish) and sanded and stained wood for the window and door casing. With the current price of lumber, I told him it looks like we're flaunting our wealth, :D when in actuality, this is all lumber that he had stored up in our barn for many years in anticipation for the remodel.
